The BSHM is pleased to announce that both the Undergraduate Essay Prize and the Schools Prize are open for submissions. The deadline for both competitions is June 19th 2026.
The Schools Prize is open to school students studying in the UK or the Republic of Ireland. The theme for this years competition is Ethnomathematics. A range of different submissions are welcome, for more details on the competition, eligibility and application, please see the Schools Prize webpage.
The Undergraduate Essay Prize is open to undergraduate or taught masters students in a university in Ireland or the UK during the current academic year 2025-2026. Written submissions are welcome, covering any aspect of the history of mathematics.
